The company will showcase scientific abstracts on dengue and tuberculosis, as well as quality control solutions focused on tropical diseases.
Controllab will participate in the 59th Brazilian Congress of Tropical Medicine (MEDTROP), from September 22 to 25, 2024, at the Rebouças Convention Center in São Paulo.
Organized by the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine, MEDTROP is one of the largest conferences on tropical diseases, bringing together specialists to discuss epidemiology, advances in diagnosis, treatments, and strategies to combat these diseases.
The event is expected to gather over 3,000 participants and offers a program that includes exhibitions, lectures, roundtable discussions, workshops, and poster presentations.
Focus on education and quality
At the 59th MEDTROP, Controllab reinforces its support for tropical medicine by highlighting the importance of analytical excellence in the field. The company will feature two scientific abstracts in the poster hall, emphasizing the significant impact of the Brazilian external quality assessment program on critical diagnostics for tropical diseases such as dengue and tuberculosis.
The displayed abstracts are:
- “Evaluation of RT-qPCR for Dengue Virus Detection: Results from a Brazilian External Quality Assessment Program”.
“Laboratory Performance in Molecular Detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis through Analysis of Results from External Quality Assessment Programs: WHO Recommended Tests Outperform Others”.
Programs for tropical medicine
At booths 20 and 21, Controllab will present its specialized programs for tropical diseases. The company offers a comprehensive portfolio that ensures excellence in all routines performed for pathogen detection, whether for culture, molecular biology, or immunoassays.
Controllab provides:
- External Quality Control (Proficiency Testing) and Internal Control for POCT and other methodologies, with samples simulating isolated infections and co-infections.
For molecular biology, the company supplies lyophilized samples prepared from viral isolation with the complete genome or clinical samples, allowing for the assessment of the accuracy of microorganism identification methods. - Reference Strains: These strains, sourced from the most renowned culture collections in Europe, ensure result credibility and accuracy while promoting resource savings in maintenance.
