The company will participate in a round table with the theme “Metrological traceability of laboratory tests in perspective”, bringing discussions with experts from different entities.
The Metrology 2021 event, held by the Brazilian Society of Metrology (SBM), the Radiation Protection and Dosimetry Institute (IRD) and Inmetro, will take place between October 18th and 21st. There will be six simultaneous activities in the area, including the 11th Brazilian Congress of Metrology.
Controllab, the largest provider of Quality Control in Latin America, will start its participation on October 20th, in a roundtable at the Brazilian Congress with the theme “Metrological traceability of laboratory tests in perspective”.
Representing the company, Rafael Lopes, Service Manager, will participate in the activity with the following discussion “Interlaboratory Comparison Scenario against Metrological Traceability”, showing the impact of the absence of traceability of analytical systems against the statistics of the Proficiency Testing (PT).
“Metrological traceability is still little discussed in the laboratory community, specifically in the human segment, although it is a fundamental factor in the selection of analytical sets. Showing the importance of this information in the results of the laboratory comparison will be enriching for the sector’s reflection”, comments Rafael Lopes.
“Another important point that these comparison data will show is that, although there are different tools for quality control, including the CRM (Certified Reference Material) which is based on metrological traceability, one quality tool does not replace the other. They are complementary. The PT data will show that other types of control do not have the sufficient sensitivity that the PT has to show the result of the process”, concludes the Manager.
Marcelo Medeiros (Inmetro) will be the coordinator of the round table. In addition to Rafael Lopes, the activity will include the presence of Luiz Alberto dos Santos Lima (Vice President of Production – Biomanguinhos) and Luisane Vieira (SBPC/ML).
The Metrology 2021 event has the general objective of contributing to the development of Metrology, through the presentation of technical papers and presentation of lectures with significant and current contributions in the area. In addition, the round table will be a great opportunity to discuss this current and important topic.
The activity will be online and will take place from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on October 20th. Registration can be made through this link.
